Manitoba Branch
The Manitoba Branch of CWRA was formed in the mid-1970’s with the mission of
“promoting effective water management”. Activities of the Branch are
overseen by a Board of Directors comprised of no less than six and no more than
twenty directors, who are elected at the annual general meeting held in
May/June of each year. Each director is elected to hold office for a period of
two years. Manitoba Branch members also play a strong leadership role at the
national level, serving on the National Board of Directors and on national
committees and working groups. Manitoba members also contribute significantly
to Project WET and CSHS.
The Manitoba Branch is very active, holding monthly meetings in conjunction
with noon-hour presentations by various individuals in the water resources
community of Manitoba. The Manitoba Branch also organizes local events,
including conferences, workshops, and tours. The Manitoba Student and Young
Professional (SYP) chapter coordinates luncheon presentations, recruitment
sessions and networking events. To find out more about Manitoba Branch events,
check this web site for notifications. Everyone is welcome to attend the
events.
The Branch warmly welcomes new members and student members. To become involved
or for additional information, please email Erin Shay, Manitoba Branch
President, or call her at (204) 945-5461.
