VANCOUVER - THE CITY
Vancouver is a dynamic city on the shores of the Pacific Ocean with spectacular
scenery - a natural harbour, majestic mountains, sandy beaches and a sparkling ocean
that sets the mood for a relaxed lifestyle. It is the host city for the 2010 Olympic
& Paralympic Winter Games. Friendly, outgoing people are ready to greet you
with a warm, West Coast welcome.
The BC Branch of the Canadian Water Resources Association is planning this exciting
national event and invites you to Vancouver to share your thoughts on how to build
our water legacy to sustain a healthy natural environment.
As a delegate, you will be invited to join the discussion on how investments in
science, monitoring, projects, and watershed management can promote effective water
management through the economic challenges of today while moving toward a sustainable
future. The conference will explore water legacies in the areas of:
- watershed management
- aquatic habitat
- modeling and analysis
- policy and governance
- streamflow monitoring
- irrigation and drainage
The event will include multiple technical streams addressing the above topics as
well as technical tours, workshops, networking opportunities, and AGMs for CWRA
