FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS |

Water resources professionals, academics and interested members of the public will have an opportunity at this conference to review the present status of watershed management in Alberta; to assess the needs, challenges and opportunities facing a more integrated water management strategy, and then look toward the future evolution of water management and implementation mechanisms in Alberta. The 2008 Conference will have two program tracks surrounding the theme of watershed management. Preliminary themes for discussion include:

Presentations
Presentations will interest public and private sectors, including academics, consultants, government representatives and industry stakeholders involved in various aspects of watershed management and water stewardship in Alberta. This Call for Papers goes out to these sectors and the people involved.
Abstracts
The deadline for submission of abstracts is January 15, 2008.
Abstracts are required for all paper and poster submissions. Abstracts should be no longer than 300 words and should not include tables, images, pictures or special typographic characters. An author may submit more than one abstract; however, each abstract must be submitted separately.
The following information must accompany each abstract:
Title of presentation
Author(s), affiliations, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses
Email, phone, and fax numbers of the corresponding author
Preferred format (paper or poster)
Indicate on a separate page the name of the presenter, affiliation, credentials, and a brief biographical description to be used as an introduction.
Submit abstracts by email to cwra.conference@gov.ab.ca. Abstracts should be submitted as an email attachment, using MS Word, with the words CWRA Abstract in the email subject line.
Oral Presentations
Presentations will be allocated a maximum of 30 minutes; this includes both the formal presentation and time for questions. Electronic copies of the presentation will be required at the start of the conference.
Poster Presentations
Poster presentations will be displayed at the Radisson Conference Centre for the duration of the conference. Posters should be a visual representation of material that can initiate an informal discussion with conference attendees.
Speaker Registration
Speakers intending to stay for the duration of the conference are requested to register as a conference attendee. However, as it is the intention of CWRA that this conference be inclusive to all interested speakers, some exceptions may be made in extraordinary circumstances.
